New Zealand
New Zealand is a small country that is situated in the South Pacific Ocean, southeast of Australia, and it consists of two islands, namely the North Island and the South Island. These are the Polynesian backgrounds, sun, sand, and cities like Auckland found in the North Island. The North Island has several attractions, the sandy looking Bay of Plenty, which is so popular during the hot summer, fishing, boating on the giant Lake Taupo and last but not least, the alpine views. Tourist attractions are, for example, thrills at Zip Line, geothermal activities in Rotorua, and skiing at Mount Ruapehu. The South Island can boast of magnanimous glaciers, mountains, and fjords, such as Fiordland National Park. The backbone of the South Island is accessible through its largest city, known as Christchurch. Tourist sights of the South Island range from wine regions in Marlborough to the colonies of little penguins in Dunedin, besides scenic views. Within the interior, one can spread his/her biking legs in the gold-mining era towns or take a hike at the Alps 2 Ocean walk trail. New Zealand’s environments, which comprise rich and diverse biogeographical features and cultural values of the indigenous people, the Maoris, make New Zealand an excellent country for ecotourism.
