Morocco can be described and classified as a North African nation-state situated near the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It has access to the sea and mountains for a part of it, while it borders other countries in Europe and in Africa. Morocco indeed has beautiful terrain, ranging from the desert of the Sahara to the mountain ranges of the High Atlas. This is the area that contains most of the population, which resides mainly in the coastal region and in large cities like Casablanca and Marrakech. The assimilation of Arab, Berber, European, and black African subcultures is especially expressed in architecture, but it is also seen in food, music, and language. The country has beach resorts, beautiful kasbahs, and things like surfing and mountain climbing, among other attractions for tourists. Morocco was a trading center and the melting pot of various cultures, its colorful present and embracing nature reflect the country’s past.
